Snowbird - Octoberfest!

This is a view of the Salt Lake Valley from the top of the mountain.

This is the tunnel that goes from one side of the mountain to the other.

This is what I did on Saturday. The last couple of years we have gone to Octoberfest in October. Not really something that I want to do again. It is usually snowing and FREEZING that high up. Last year it was snowing. So this year we got smart and went last weekend. It was a beautiful day and probably 50 or 60 degrees at the ski resort but colder on top of the mountain. Basically sweatshirt weather. Had the required BEER and ate the German food. I had Beef Rouladen and Dale (his mom was German) had Weisewurst??? Spelling?? Listened to the Polka music and had Apple Struessel. Sheesh I can't spell in German. Anyway it was all good. Rode the tram up to the top of the mountain, hiked a ways to the tunnel that goes from one side of the mountain to the other for the skiers, went through that and then rode the chair lift down. Saw a coyote or wolf on the trip down. Ate more dessert...required after that hike... had german chocolate cake and then went home. It was a great day and now we know to plan Octoberfest in September!

Pam I love your new beads and those earrings are beautiful. The trip up the mountain looks like lots of fun. I like all the things Dale sent me. I may go camping this weekend. The weather is really nice and things are drying up finally. I have a massage today and tomorrow and 2 for next week already. Love you, Mom
